After destroying a facility in Maylasia, Yelena Belova’s next assignment pits her up against some other agents who quickly realize they have been betrayed. And then things get worse.
There is fun to be had here. The characters are great (although I’m not sure why they had to make Red Guardian such a doofus).
Valentina is a great antagonist and the whole group looks like a great start to something else. The cinematography was gorgeous and the fight choreogapy were top-notch. And Valentina is a delcious villain; it’s always a pleasure to watch her gears spinning.
However, the setup took a while to get everything going and I think they overdid some of the introspection; it really slowed the movie in spots.
But I had fun. I saw it in 3D, which worked well enough. Kids should be OK. There is a mid-credits scene and a post-credits scene, so I Ihope your bladder is up to the task.
