You know what? I’m not even gonna go on here. There is no real narrative thread to this movie, except maybe some of the last hour. Trying to make sense of anything like a plot here would be futile.
I will say this move is grotesque, often nauseating, scattered, aimless, and frequently dull. The characters are flat, unconvincing, and mostly unlikable. Very little here makes sense. I could go on, but it’s not worth my time or yours.
I’ll give it credit for some beautiful cinematography, even while it was making my stomach churn. Fiennes was very good, but mostly wasted.
Nope, won’t recommend it; after half an hour I was sorry I started it and nothing changed my mind after that. Not suitable for kids by any measure. There are no post-credit scenes, so feel free to flee quickly once they roll.
