So let’s take the worst bad buys there are and send them out on a mission to save the world. What could go wrong with that?

Everything, actually and this movie is a list of bad ideas. Poor pacing, especially in the “origin” sequences of the bad guys. A pretty bland soundtrack and a score that doesn’t know how to play nice with the action. A ridiculous plot and some occasionally pretty cheesy special effects should have made this movie another DC debacle.

And yet…somehow I got drawn into this and ended up having a pretty good time. There is enough low-brow humor to lighten things up from time to time and it never takes itself too seriously. Margot Robbie is perfect as Harlequin and Leto’s Joker is surprisingly entertaining. In fact, everyone turned in good to excellent performances, especially Viola Davis as Amanda Waller. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this, considering the negativity I had been hearing.

I’ll give this a mild recommendation, but don’t bother with the 3-D; it added nothing. There is a pretty cool mid-credits scene, but no post-credit scene.
