After the destruction in Metropolis, Batman decides that Superman is too much of a menace. Some major-league rough-housing ensues.

This movie is a mess. It is way too long and meanders all over the place, stuffing in bits and pieces that dropped me out of the narrative more than once. Had they cut it to about 100 minutes, it would have been a much tighter and exciting film.
Dark and often dimly lit, it has the same dour tone that DC seems to prefer.

It’s just not very much fun. Why doesn’t DC know how to do fun?

But I have to give it some points for Wonder Woman, and surprisingly (to me) Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, who, under all the frenetic posing, is genuinely menacing. The fight with the cave troll Doomsday is pretty good and it gets a point for that. Affleck is fine as Bruce Wayne, but he turns Batman into a serial killer and that is not all right.

I know you’ll go see this, regardless of what I say (I would), but you have been warned. The 3D was useless. The good news is that there are no post-10-minutes-of-credits scenes, so you can head toward the Batmobile as soon as they steamroll in.
