A cybersecurity expert who has stolen secret files on UFOs is running for his life. Meanwhile, a weather reporter starts displaying some unusual talents, while competing forces vie to control the truth. Mulder would be proud.
I was on the edge of my seat for at least 90 per cent of this movie and even in between, the tension was hair-raising. The cinematography was never overwhelming or eye-straining and the score, by john Williams, never overpowered. Emily Blunt was outstanding as the woman coping with too many arrows slung in her direction and Colin Firth strode the line between concerned citizen and villainy with perfect poise. Add in a couple of Mission Impossible-grade action pieces and very subtle special effects and we get a nearly perfect movie.
This is the best film I’ve seen in years, so yeah I highly recommend it. There are no scenes after the credits roll, and it gets bonus bravos because the credits are only seven minutes long, a trend I hope continues.
