Review | A Quiet Place Part II

Picking up almost right where the first movie left off (after some flashbacks), Evelyn and the kids have to flee their devastated home, while silenty avoiding the Noise Monsters.

With their farm in flames, the family flees, trying to find other survivors. What they find is that this is not an answer to their problems, just more problems.

There is a lot to like here, especially when they run multiple threads that are equally tense. Simmonds in particular does marvelous work here, but everyone is good at keeping up the suspense. The monsters are a bit over-the-top, but that’s OK. The camera work was incredible and I found myself trying tolook around corners more than once. The score was phenomenal at maintaining the tension without being deafening.

My one beef is with the ending, which is abrupt and leaves a lot of unanswered questions. I assume they’ll get to those in the next one.

I’ll recommend this one. It will keep you on the edge of your seat and you might run out of oxygen from holding your breath. There are no scenes after the credits start rolling, so feel free to creep out of there…silently!
