While awaiting the opening gala for her newly finished hotel, Sophie dreams of the adventures of her mother and the Fathers in her life, while everyone spontaneously breaks into song for usually no reason.

OK, I’ll admit it: I had fun. There was a big grin on my face for the whole movie and, from time to time, my foot would mysteriously start tapping for no reason. Beautiful, funny and harmless, this one should do very well with a certain audience, mainly folks who like ABBA (which I do) or just like some bright fun.

I’ll recommend this one; it would be a seriously great date move. They, of course, sing through a lot of the credits and there is a funny but unessential post-credits scene.
