Marvel and ABC Studios are developing a TV series around the New Warriors, focused heavily on fan-favorite Squirrel Girl.
The New Warriors is a Marvel Comics superhero team of of teenage and young adult heroes, that often serve as a junior counterpart to The Avengers. Doreen Green, a.k.a. Squirrel Girl, can communicate with squirrels. No really, she can and this somehow winds up being useful. She was created by Will Murray and artist Steve Ditko as a light-hearted counterpoint to some of the more serious and overly dramatic series you normally find. No surprise, she was a big success.
The New Warriors is “being shopped around to cable and streaming outlets” for now, so no Agents Of Shield crossovers, more the shame.
