A programmer wins a chance to spend week with his boss in a secret, remote location. Once there, he is to evaluate a new Artificial Intelligence project. It’s more than he or the creator realize.

This movie is a weird cross between Frankenstein and Pinocchio and it does have it’s moments. The cinematography is top notch and the special effects are scant but perfect. And I like that the soundtrack doesn’t buffet the senses relentlessly.

However, this does take a while to set up; too long, for my taste. The payoff is worth the wait, but the interactions between the players are too restrained for the most part. But when it does get going, hang on; it’s chilling.

I’ll recommend it, but be prepared to invest in the setup. No post credit scenes, but the song with the credits was worth sitting through.

Flytrap rating: 7.5/10
