When one of the most faithful acolytes of Ragu is spurned by his god, he is given a mighty weapon with which to kill gods, which he heartily  proceeds to do. Enter Thor and…the Mighty Jane who now has Mjolnir and the power of an Asgardian goddess.

This movie is very silly, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. If you can embrace the inanity, you’ll have a good time. The special effects are at a new high, even for a Marvel movie. Portman and Hemsworth have chemisty galore and everyone is having loads of fun here. The score is driving and I predict Guns’N’ Roses are going to get a lot of new airplay. I particularly liked the screaming goats. Bale plays the god-killer with with delicious over-the-top gusto. I just wish that Tessa Thompson had more to do; she seemed a bit side-lined.

I’ll highly recommend this one; it’s a lot of fun. There is a mid-credits scene and a must-see post-credits scene
