When the government arbitrarily shuts down a salvage job, the owner of the company that was doing the salvage resorts to some shady dealings. In the meantime, Peter Parker spends his days mooning over a girl in school and his nights trying to prove that he is worthy of being an Avenger.

This is an awesome looking, mostly fun movie with some outstanding characters and enough action to fill a couple of Marvel movies. Everyone is impressive, but Michael Keaton as the Vulture is outstanding. And Jacob Batalong as the “sidekick” is just perfectly comical.

However, it suffered from some tedium while it explored the teen-angsty/young-love part of Peter’s journey; luckily, this did pay off with a great plot twist. I thought there was too much Tony Stark, which led to too much gadgetry; Spider-Man always had gadgets, but he made them himself, rather than have them thrust on him, as they were here. Some of the special effects, especially of him wall-crawling were not especially convincing.

And I still cannot get with this casting choice:Image result for aunt may spider man

I’ll recommend this one; most of my reservations are because I’m probably too steeped in the classic Spider-Man, which this is not. There is a mid-credit and a post-credit scene.
