Three paranormal physicists and an MTA worker discover a plot to brings lots of ghosts into our world.

I am a fan of all these actors, so I really wanted to like this movie, but life is full of disappoint; it sucked bad, on almost every level. Allow me to spell it out:

1. It wasn’t funny. The theater was pretty crowded, but big laughs? Maybe three.
2. The characters were shallow and heartless. There was really no depth to them, they were just there, doing whatever. The script never tried to build a connection to us. And Hemsworth was completely wasted, playing a character too stupid to be believable.

3. It wasn’t scary. The villain had no gravitas; not really threatening enough to care if he won or lost. Nor was there much explanation of why he was plotting his dastardly deeds.

The special effects, although grand, we not that engaging and the 3-D was a waste of time.

I cannot recommend this; I was scanning my watch after 20 minutes in. There are intermittent credit scenes and there is a post-credit scene.

Flytrap rating: 3/10
