Title

Fast & Furious 6

Written by: Chris Morgan

Directed by: Justin Lin

Starring:

Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Ludacris, Tyrese Gibson, Jordana Brewster, Luke Evans and a whole bunch more…

Rated PG-13
Running time: 128 mins

A group of international heist-meisters are lured out of retirement by an Interpol agent who has proof that one of their gang is still alive. All they have to is stop a seasoned terrorist from procuring parts for a McGuffin weapon and bring him in; pardons and kudus for all, if they succeed.

I was looking for nice, fast car-chasin’, fight-filled, explosion-laden afternoon escapism and this delivered in abundance. The car chases were spot-on, the fights (especially the women) were gripping and the explosions were magnificent. Diesel and Johnson played off each other nicely and Rodriguez glowered her way through with gusto.

Plus, there was one absolutely impossible stunt that broke about sixteen laws of motion and physics, but was nonetheless breathtaking. I loved it.

I’ll not only recommend this as a great matinee pop-corner, but possibly a nice date movie.
There is an intriguing postscript, right after the end, before the main credits, but nothing after that to worry about.

Flytrap rating: 7.5/10
