A series of grisly murders is accompanied by enigmatic letters to, “The Batman”. Enter Catwoman, who’s girlfriend is missing, along with James Gorden, and you have the formula for a tight, action filled adventure. Right? Right…uh…

Except, that is not what we get. There is some action here, broken up by long interludes of Bruce Wayne emoing his way through trying to solve the puzzles left by the Riddler, none of which are particulary puzzling. My main mystery was trying to see what was happening in the underlit scenery. (There’s even a scene in a hospital with no lighting, but maybe that’s how they roll in Gotham hospitals.) Kravitz is certainly fetching as Selena Kyle, but there is zero chemistry between her and Pattinson. Maybe less than zero. The score is a cut and paste from Michael Giacchino and the soundtrack is just ordinary.

And what is with that makeup on Colin Farell?

Colin Farrell Found “Absolute Liberation” by Becoming the Penguin

This is supposed to be the Penguin?

Superheroes are defined by their villains and these villains are boring.

As many others have said, “overlong and underlit”. I cannot recommend this one. If you must see it, go to a matinee and save a few bucks. There are no scenes after the credits roll.
