Mostly for the better, but there is a lot of worse in here, too. As the core crew in the Millennium Falcon scramble from here to there, trying to get to Palpatine to put him out of the action, there are brief, but almost disconnected scenes that barely hold the narrative together and seem mostly designed to introduce new characters that have a spot of relevance to add. This gets a bit better as it goes on, and I thought all of the scenes with Rey and Kylo/Ben were almost worth the wading. Some teeth-grittingly bad dialogue distracts from time time to time. And the need to check the fan boxes does get annoying.

There is some new stuff here, alongside lot of rehashing and regurgitating.

I will give this a very mild recommendation. Of course you’re going to go see it, but you might want to go to a matinee and save a few buck$. There are no extra scenes after the credits start, so you can rise on out of there.
