Bumblebee

Written by: Christina Hodson

Rated PG-13
Running time: 114 Mins

After a fierce battle in the opening scenes, one of the Mighty Morphin…oops, wrong movie. I mean, one of the Terrifically Transforming Troopers is assigned to Earth, where he meets yet another angsty adolescent who hides him while she gets to know him so we can love him. It. Whatever.

Look, your kids might like this, but I found it syrupy and tooth-grindingly cliched along with a rather stupid and predicable plot. No surprises here and Samuel Morse could file patent violations on the telegraphy. Even the special effects come across as cartoonish, rather than spectacular.

I should have gone to see Aquaman. At least there are no post-credit scenes, so flee when you can.
