Fleeing from some former employers, our group of mercenaries encounter a being that claims to be Star Lord’s Dad. This leads to complications and shenanigans.

This one is more cartoonish than the first, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. The special effects are bigger, the goals are greater and the universe is in peril.

Unfortunately, there were a few places that strained my suspension of belief. See if you catch them. And some of the special effects didn’t work for me; they seemed more cartoonish than special
But everyone is having a lot of fun and that adds to the chemistry that everyone has with each other.

And Karen Gillan always gets a point for any movie, especially when she can act through makeup like this:

I’ll recommend this one. I did not see it in 3-D, but I can see where it might enhance the film. There are FIVE post-credit scenes and some good music through most of them.
