After confronting a shady bio-science firm, a reporter loses his job. He later breaks into the place, and gets a big taste of their wares.

This is a fun, if rather silly movie, mostly held up by Tom Hardy’s commitment to the role of Eddie Brock. The visualization of the creature is spot-on and they manage to keep the tone mostly light by avoiding gore and oppressively depressing malevolence.

However, there are some plot developments that don’t really make sense. I hear that there were a lot of cuts to the film, which explain this. Look for a director’s cut once it gets released on Blu-Ray.

I’ll recommend this one. There is a puzzling mid-credits scene and the post-credit scene, while pretty cool, is just and ad for another movie. I hope this trend does not continue.
