Rated PG-13
Running time: 141 mins

To sum up the plot: A villain enlists an army of nameless drones to help him do things to the Earth that no one else wants done…wait a minute; why does that sound very familiar?

Yeah OK, but that’s just the general idea; the movie itself is great. There’s time for everyone to quip their quips and kick some ass, including a tense fight between Iron Man and The Hulk. There’s a bit of an unlikely love story that is very touching; plus, Hawkeye gets some very nice (and deserved) screen time. Quicksilver and The Scarlet Witch are kind of rushed in, but they manage to make their time interesting. All in all, a great romp.

My only quibble is that a movie like this is defined by its villain; unfortunately, Ultron, as cool as he is, is no Loki. But then, who is?

I’ll highly recommend this one. Take the kids, but don’t expect them to get to sleep too quickly after. There is a very quick mid-credits scene, but no post credit scene; odd for a Marvel movie

Flytrap rating: 8/10
