When an electrical engineer has a life-changing accident at Oscorp, Spidey has to go to the rescue. In the meantime, an old friend shows up, looking for blood, as Peter Parker has to go through some changes himself.
This movie is a mess. Although enjoyable overall, it keeps shifting from plotline to plotline and never seems to focus on anything long enough to keep us engaged. Emma Stone is compelling as Gwen Stacy and her scenes with Garfield are strong, as are Sally Field’s, but the rest of the film is way too disjointed. By concentrating on Electro, they manage to trivialize the Green Goblin! And the Rhino was just silly.
Save this one for a matinee; you and the kids will probably enjoy it. There is a mid-credits scene (that has nothing to do with Spider-Man), but no post-credit scene, so you can swing on out.
