Running time: 119 mins

Betrayed by the Necromongers, Riddick finds himself stranded on an unfriendly planet, inhabited by creatures that eat anything that gets too close. He finds a way-station and sends out an alert: “Here I am, come and get me”, that is rather quickly answered by a couple of bands of mercenaries, who find that getting him is harder than they imagined.

There is a lot of fun to be had here. Diesel is properly menacing and Sackhoff is in fine form (in more ways than one!). Lots of action and CGI monsters plus some good laughs to break the tension. My only problem with anything is that the mercs are rather inept; Riddick has no problem dealing with them. I wonder how they ever made any money.

I would give this a recommendation as a good matinee movie, but nothing really special and the least of the three so far. There is some brief female nudity and lots of blood and gore, so maybe leave the kids. No post credit scenes; when they roll, so can you.

Flytrap rating: 6.5/10
