Title

Resident Evil: Retribution

Written by: Paul W.S. Anderson

Directed by: Paul W.S. Anderson

Starring: Milla Jovovich, Sienna Guillory, Aryana Engineer, Michelle Rodriguez, Bingbing Li, Boris Kodjoe, Shawn Roberts

Rated R

Running time: 95 minutes

Alice is back and she is not pleased. Picking up (in a weird way) from where the last one ended, she is imprisoned, escapes and fights her way through a maze of monstrosities, only to find herself confronted by some old friends that are no longer so friendly.

Oh yeah, this was exactly was I wanted from this franchise, one of my guiltiest pleasures. The usual catalog of faceless zombies, freaks and oozing behemoths; it never lets up and their weapons never run out of ammo! Milla (Alice) is kick-ass-in-a-leather-skin-suit and Michelle Rodriguez beautifully enacts her twin personalities as love and hate. A nice surprise was the return of Luthor (Boris Kodjoe). Newcomer Aryana Engineer, as Becky, shows promise and I will be looking for her in future films.

A kick-ass movie with a lot of ass kicking; just what I wanted on a rainy afternoon. Definitely not for everyone, but for me, well worth getting wet for. There was no post-credit scene, so feel free to hit the loo.

Flytrap rating: 7 /10
